Concert at the Plaza
June 25 has come and gone again and with it, another Global Beatles Day celebration. While everyone celebrates the hit group The Beatles in their own way, Columbus, Indiana has a very special way of remembering the talented musicians. The Bartholomew County Public Library joins together each year with local musicians and holds a public concert in the plaza of the library. The event is free to the public with the only intent being the celebration of The Beatles and their legendary music.
While the Columbus event, known as the Concert at the Plaza, is only in its second year of being put on, the arts community is excited to keep the tradition up for years to come.
"It really is super nice to be able to have this event coming back," stated Columbus native Elizabeth Babb, "I grew up with this music and it's so nice to see how many people love The Beatles."
The Tempos, which were the band hosting the event this year, are a Beatles Memorial Band. They play the greatest hits of the group, which is all of them in their opinion, as an honorary tribute to the greatness of The Beatles' music. While this is the first time The Tempos have played at the Concert at the Plaza, they are excited to return next year.
The Concert at the Plaza will return at the Bartholomew County Public Library Plaza June 25, 2020 from 6:30-7:30. Check out more Global Beatles Day news at http://www.globalbeatlesday.com/.

"It was so much fun last year that we just had to keep it going!" commented Mary Claire of the Bartholomew County Public Library, "We are going to keep the celebration strong every year and, hopefully, make it bigger and better."
